On $500/mo spend, the estimated monthly cost breakdown for Orbi Card is: gas $0.00, conversion spread $7.50, flat transaction fees $0.00, and amortised card/tier fee $0.00, for a total drag of 1.5% of spend. After $0.00/mo cashback that is still a net cost of about $7.50/mo ($90.00/yr). Orbi Card tops up from a centralized balance, so there is no on-chain gas cost regardless of how often you reload. Figures are conservative estimates and vary with conditions.
Note: Mastercard spent from a stablecoin balance: the cardholder sets in the app which of USDT, USDC or USDG the card spends. Orbi calls it a secured credit card ("tarjeta de crédito garantizado") whose line is backed by the user's own digital-dollar balance, with that balance as collateral and no loan, so it behaves like a debit card and is recorded as one here, on the arq-card precedent. FEES (ayuda.orbi.finance, read 2026-10-11): no annual fee and no issuance fee; the virtual card is free with no minimum balance; the physical card is free with no shipping charge but needs a 50 digital-dollar balance to request; Orbi charges no trading commissions and says the only cost of paying with the card is built into the exchange rate shown in the app, a spread it does not publish; Orbi adds no ATM fee beyond the ATM operator's own. SoFi Tech Solutions announced on 8 October 2026 that it provides the BIN sponsorship for the programme, with domestic payments routed over Mastercard's Mexico Domestic Switch, and called it the first regulated stablecoin card programme in Mexico. Orbi Boost, a separate product, pays rewards on locked balances and is not a card reward. VERIFICATION GAPS: no conversion spread, spend limits or card launch date are published, and the card's adhesion contract was not found (the terms page covers the wallet only).
