Every active crypto debit card we track (104 cards), ranked by cashback rate, with the staking requirements and reward caps that the headline rates hide.
The best crypto debit card depends on where you live and which tier requirements you can realistically meet. In Europe, WhiteBIT Nova pays up to 10% category cashback (capped at €25/month) and Bleap pays 1-20% USDC with zero fees. In the US, the X Money Card pays 3% flat (requires X Premium+). Globally, KAST (1.5-3% USD, 170+ countries) and Tria (1.5-6% USDT, self-custody) have the widest reach.
Crypto debit cards are the workhorse of crypto spending: you load crypto or stablecoins, the provider converts to local currency when you tap, and you earn rewards on each purchase. Of the 104 active debit cards we track, most run on Visa or Mastercard rails, so acceptance is identical to a bank card. The differences that matter are the realistic cashback rate (after tiers and caps), fees, custody model, and whether the card serves your country at all.
This guide ranks every active debit card in our database by base cashback rate and then walks through how to pick between them. If you want a credit card that earns crypto instead, see the companion guide to the best crypto credit cards.

MiCA license received June 19, 2026 (Austria FMA).
Cashback: Up to 6% | Fee: $0 | Type: Debit | Base Rate: 6%
Launched July 10, 2026. Issued by Wirex on Visa network. No issuance or annual fees. BingX Metal Card users get fee-free ATM withdrawals up to $200/month. Apple Pay and Google Pay supported. Visa/Mastercard payments additionally restricted in: Nigeria, Ghana, Morocco, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela, and other sanctioned countries. $5 bonus after first $20 spend. Primary markets: LATAM, APAC (excl. SG/TH), MENA, East Africa.

TWO card products: (1) New MEXC Card (Visa, launched June 25, 2026) for APAC with 4-10% USDT cashback by M-Score tier, 7% APR on 100-100K USDT balance, 1% transaction fee, 0% top-up fee, $2/mo inactivity after 3 months. (2) Legacy EU Mastercard (launched 2025) with 0% cashback, €1/mo fee, 1% top-up fee, 0% EEA / 2% outside. Tiers shown are for the new Visa card. Cashback paid in USDT on the 15th of following month. Cashback: 3% USD | Fee: $0 | Type: Debit | Base Rate: 3%
Metal Visa debit card personalized with user's X handle, issued in partnership with Visa via a licensed subsidiary. IMPORTANT: the card itself has no annual fee, but access requires a paid X Premium+ subscription (around $40/mo, or $395/yr on the web and $490/yr via the Apple App Store as of 2026), so Premium+ is effectively the card's cost of entry. Rolled out to Premium+ subscribers from late June 2026 and expanding to a broader group of verified users; X has targeted a full public US rollout for mid-2026 with no confirmed date. Available in 41 states plus DC (not yet New York or Massachusetts). 3% cashback is uncapped with no minimum spend, excluding money orders, precious metals, tax payments, financial-institution payments, and govt services. 6% APY on deposits, FDIC-insured via Cross River Bank up to $250K, or up to $10M through the X Cash Sweep Programme that spreads balances across partner banks. 0% FX fees and free ATM withdrawals (X-side; third-party operator surcharges may still apply). Apple Pay & Google Pay. Initial product is fiat-only; crypto support (BTC, ETH, DOGE) is planned for a later 2026 phase but not yet live. Note that X has not yet published a full account agreement or fee schedule, so spending, ATM, and transfer limits and any card issuance or replacement fees are not officially disclosed; the 6% APY has also drawn US Senate scrutiny over how the yield is funded.
Cashback: 1-4% XRP/GBP | Fee: $0-$99.99/yr | Type: Debit | Base Rate: 2%
Relaunched Oct 2025 after SEC/Ripple settlement. Two tiers: Essential (free, 2% XRP, $120/mo cap) and Elite ($99.99/yr, 3-4% XRP, metal card, no ATM/FX fees, $300/mo cap). Elite: 4% on crypto/metals, 3% on fiat/stablecoins. Essential was 3-4% at launch but dropped to 2% flat for signups after Jan 1, 2026. UK: Mastercard, 1% GBP cashback on GBP-funded purchases only (non-GBP-funded spend earns 0%), capped at £100/mo. US virtual card only (physical coming). Direct Deposit promo (additional 4% XRP) expired March 31, 2026.

Unlike a credit card, a debit card spends money you have already loaded. The flow is: top up the card balance with crypto or stablecoins, then spend anywhere the network is accepted. Conversion to fiat happens at the point of sale, at or near the market rate, sometimes plus a conversion fee.
Two consequences follow. First, every purchase with volatile crypto is a taxable disposal in most jurisdictions: if your BTC appreciated since you bought it, spending it realizes a capital gain. Spending stablecoins avoids most of this since USDC stays near $1. Second, you carry the volatility until the moment you spend: a balance held in BTC can shrink before you use it, while a stablecoin balance will not.
The single biggest mistake when comparing debit cards is taking the top-of-range rate at face value. High headline rates almost always carry conditions:
Our ROI calculator models these tier costs against your actual monthly spend and shows the net annual value per card, which is the number that matters.
Most debit cards are custodial: the exchange holds your balance, which is simple but means trusting the platform. Self-custody cards like Tria, MetaMask, and Gnosis Pay authorize spending from a wallet you control. The trade-off is on-chain funding costs (gas) and slightly more setup. Our self-custody vs custodial guide covers the mechanics.
No debit card serves every market, and several big names exclude major countries (the top-rated global cards commonly exclude the US). We maintain dedicated regional rankings with the country-level details:
A crypto debit card is a Visa or Mastercard that spends from a crypto or stablecoin balance you load in advance. When you pay, the provider converts your crypto to local currency at the point of sale, so any merchant that accepts the network accepts the card. Most pay rewards (cashback) in crypto on each purchase.
In most jurisdictions, yes. Converting crypto to fiat at the point of sale is a disposal, which can trigger capital gains tax (this is how the US IRS and UK HMRC treat it). Spending stablecoins like USDC creates minimal gains since the value stays near $1, which is why stablecoin-funded cards are the more tax-efficient way to spend.
Bleap (EEA + Switzerland) charges zero fees of any kind and pays 1-20% USDC category cashback. In the US, the X Money Card has no card fee and pays 3% USD, but access requires a paid X Premium+ subscription. Globally, the BingX Card has no issuance or annual fee with up to 6% cashback, though it excludes the US, UK, Canada, and Singapore.
Almost never. Nearly every card issued on Visa or Mastercard rails requires identity verification because the issuing banks must comply with anti-money-laundering rules. A few cards offer lighter verification tiers with low limits. See our No-KYC and Low-KYC guide for the verified levels per card and the traps to avoid.
Headline rates are usually the top tier, which can require staking or locking the provider's token, holding a large portfolio, or paying a subscription. Many cards also cap monthly rewards (WhiteBIT Nova caps at €25/month, Nexo between $50 and $200 depending on tier). Check the tier requirements and caps before counting on the headline number.
